Feliz Domingo!
It’s been a while since I was last on here. Life has been crazy lately! As some of you know, our team has been going through a lot of sickness (practically every week with either parasitic or bacterial infections, common cold, digestive issues, etc). But, God has been really faithful to restore our bodies to good health each time and see us through the tough days. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR PRAYERS!
I am still on the mend of my bad cold (fever of 103 and other cold symptoms) but I am feeling so much better today than I have in a couple days. I just want to SHOUT OUT my awesome Chameleon team. They have been so loving in their time, energy, care, and encouragement over the last couple of days! I believe that through these sicknesses we have been brought much closer as a team. I have been able to see the uniqueness of each person and have been able to appreciate the way the Lord has wired them. As individuals, we are weak and fragile but as a team, we are much stronger. By operating as a unified team, we are able to appreciate the differences and make room for people to step into their God- given roles.
I intended to write a different kind of post today, but I think I’ll save that original content for a different blog and take this opportunity to write about my team! I want to highlight to you the beauty in them that God has shown me, and I want the world to know! Here’s a little bit about each person on my team and the ways they have shown Jesus to me over the last several weeks (whether in the throes of my sickness or everyday life). It is a joy to be on a team with these lovely ladies!
– Abigail: Thank you for waking up multiple times throughout the last couple of nights (at all hours) to check my temperature, change my cold cloths for my forehead, readjust my sleeping arrangements, bring me liquid IV & food, monitor my medication intake, sit at the doctors for hours with me… basically, being my personal nurse during a time when I could do very little for myself. You have really shown Jesus to me by the way that you have sacrificed your sleep and comforts to tend to my needs when I couldn’t do anything for myself. And not only through my sickness but also in doing ministry with you, I have seen your tender heart to care for those that cannot care for themselves. Thank you for showing me the love of God in such a tangible way and for caring for the least of these.
– Caroline: Thank you Carol for being a companion to my heart! Over the last several weeks, we have had such a mix of conversations- ranging from deeper theological topics to quite ridiculous, trivial conversations that make me laugh so hard that I keep smiling minutes after a joke has ended. You make an average excursion turn into some of the most memorable moments. Thank you for always seeking to understand my heart and for loving me so well. I see Jesus in you in the way that you seek to know the Father’s heart and aim to convey His heart to other believers. Thank you for highly regarding the Word of God and placing Jesus at the center of it all.
– Ruthie: Thank you Ruthie for being my roomie over the last few weeks! We have had so many laughs and sweet moments of good conversation. You have brought me so much laughter when we wake up in the middle of the night to the sounds of a rooster practically screeching outside of our window into our ears and your natural response is to jokingly threaten it and have a “stern talking-to” this rooster! On a more serious note, I have seen Jesus displayed beautifully in the way that you love to serve others and give generously of yourselves for the sake of the well-being of those around you. You would take the shirt off of your back or give of your last piece of bread just to clothe or feed your teammate who is in need, and I have been a recipient of that love. Thank you for being the hands & feet of Jesus in that way.
(This is a picture of Ruthie and the ice cream she bought for me, JUST because she wanted to bless me)
– Victoria: Victoria, there is just something about the way that you pursue people that makes my heart feel so sought after by you. Even in my struggles of being vulnerable, you have gently encouraged me to share my heart so that it can be loved well by the team. Even as you were battling sickness, your selfless heart was on display; you cooked oatmeal for me countless times, held me up (literally) by your arms, selflessly served me, and used your words to breathe life into my heart. I see Jesus in you through your gentle spirit and earnest desire to know people the way Jesus has first known us. Thank you for the way you pursue others because in doing so, it brings the heart of Jesus so close to our human hearts.
This is MY TEAM!
They are women of God that have a heart to love on others and see lives touched by Jesus!
We have been having a WILD week of ministry (even in the midst of sickness) and I am excited to share with you some awesome ministry highlights in the coming days! So stay tuned!!
A few things to note:
– I do still have a Youtube account lol! It has just been difficult to sit down and edit all of the footage that I have. I am hoping to get my youtube video out soon about Training Camp because I really want to share it with you all (yes.. that was like 5 or 6 weeks ago, lol)
– We are switching to a new blog site very soon… which means there will be some changes to where my blogs updates will be. I will keep you in the loop about that as I know more information!
– Time with our ministry in Guatemala will be coming to a close on November 4th. It’s crazy how time flies on the race! We then will remain in Guatemala for about 2 more weeks and gather with our entire P-Squad to engage in what we call “Debrief.” This is a time for rest and recharging, and also preparing for ministry in Europe.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for your prayers, support, and love. It is because of the Lord’s grace and your generosity that I am able to be overseas sharing the love of Christ with people, and also being changed by His love everyday!
May you know the depth of His love for you today!
“… that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Ephesians 1: 17b-19
We’ve been praying for you Katherine. I’m glad you are feeling better. Thank you for sharing about your amazing team. They all are beautiful women of God as are you also! May God continue to Bless, anoint, and lead you by His Holy Spirit. I pray Psalm 91 over you and your team!! Random Hugs to all
So glad to hear you are improving – we were interceding for you! Excellent blog – looks and sounds like a perfect team. Praying for you all to remain unified and in tune with what the Lord wants to do! Blessings!
Feliz Domingo para ti tambien!
I’m so sorry to hear that you and your team have been feeling under the weather these past few weeks. At the same time though, it brings me great joy to hear that friends like Abigail, Carol, Ruthie, and Victoria were able to be there for you while also helping others in need. It goes to show even when everyone is feeling ill, there’s still that passion to put Christ first and foremost. I’ll be continuing to pray for you and others as always for not only the rest of the Guatemala trip, but for the upcoming trip to Europe as well.
In terms of prayer requests for myself, I just had a really good interview for a company this past week that I might be hearing back soon so hopefully this’ll finally allow me to go back to working during the day and start being a more involved member at my church. If you could also pray for my Bible study group, the Harvest House, that God would give us the wisdom on how to approach people under false beliefs such a mormons and Jehovah witnesses in a way that honors the Lord in ministry.
Thank you for updating everyone despite the unfortunate circumstances. I look forward to seeing the footage from training camp, and many adventures to come!
P.S. I’ll also be sending you the instructions of that card game, Golf, that you, Lauren, and me used to play back in the day. I hope it’ll be something fun to do with your team during any downtime while on this odyssey!
Verse of the Day:
“May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” – Psalm 19:14
Such beautiful friendships forged in ministry! Thank you for giving us a glimpse into the hearts of your co-laborers. I am so encouraged by their love for God in the way they serve and love others! Continued prayers for health and protection for all of you! ??
Katherine!! This is just the cutest thing ever! I love the way that you see people with the eyes of Jesus. Your love for your team is so kind and it reminds me of the deep ways that a shepherd cares for and loves his sheep! Too CUTE!! I love you guys and are praying for you, for HEALTH, and for deeper intimacy with the Lord in the coming weeks. In your corner!! xoxox, KP
Katherine, Beautiful descriptions of each of your precious teammates. What a gift you are to each other and to the people of Guatemala. I love how the Lord uses our adversities to draw us to Himself and each other. All the descriptive words are TRUE about your gifted team of strong women! We are excited for debrief and getting to see all of you in a few short weeks. ox Kathy and Matt

You are so intentional about caring for the body of Christ, despite physical distance. Thank you for that game idea and I will lift up your prayer requests to the Lord! Thank you for sharing all of this, and I am sure you will have even more prayer warriors lifting you up to the Lord as they read your comment!
You’re always caring, praying, and looking out for us as team, mom! Your actions and prayers are never unnoticed. I can not tell you how much it means that I have Dad and your support. Love you!

Kathy & Matt, SO excited to see you so soon. Thank you for taking the time to read and comment on my blog post, even in the midst of your busy lives in this season. You are an inspiration to my walk with the Lord and are in my prayers!!
Laurelle, what a sweet friend YOU are to my life. Your phrase of “resting purposefully” has been brought back to my heart many times, as God has been teaching me a lot of what intentional rest looks like and also how to Sabbath well. Thank you for being a friend who sows seeds of truth and love, always
Your comment was just what I needed to smile! Thank you Phyillis. I was just lifting you up to the Lord in prayer not too long ago. You are an inspiration to my faith and I look forward to hearing how God continues to work in and through you for His glory and your good!
Carol- I love you more.
